Betting Spy: Unhappy times at West Ham Disunited

West Ham United is such an unhappy ship these days it makes the the HMS Bounty look like a pleasure cruise.

Off the pitch fans are either totally disillusioned or rowing with each other after a protest march planned for this Saturday was mysteriously called off.

And things are even worse on it where the team have suffered consecutive 4-1 defeats and look a total shambles.

A lack of investment and a spate of injuries have left us with a creaking defence, a pedestrian midfield and a powder-puff forward line.

Our next two games are now pivotal – at home to Burnley and Southampton.

Two wins and the owners will be guaranteed another season of Premier League riches.

But anything less than that and David Sullivan and David Gold will be twitching nervously in the posh seats.

Burnley are 5/2 for an away victory and that price will be snapped-up by punting sharks who smell a bit of cockney blood in the water.

I can’t back against the once mighty Irons so it’s to The Hawthorns we travel where West Brom are in a desperate state.

It’s five defeats on the spin for the Baggies who are cut adrift at the foot of the table.

Leicester look set to heap more misery on Alan Pardew’s men and Leicester look a solid 6/4 shot.

Next week sees one of construction’s biggest jollies.

Not the property party at MIPIM but the real festival at Cheltenham.

Betting Spy will be hoof deep in the action and I like the look of Native River in the Gold Cup on Friday at a tasty 5/1.
