Henry Construction doubles size to over £200m

Hounslow-based Henry Construction Projects has doubled revenue and profits after a move into general building contracting.

Last year revenue soared to £208m from £111m in the previous year, generating a pre-tax profit more than doubled to £9.4m.

Herny’s average staff headcount, including directors, rose to 19.

The firm has grown rapidly from its roots as a groundwork and concrete frame contractor to a general builder on the back on large multi-storey housing projects. Just three years ago Henry’s revenue stood around £50m.

The contractor now counts ISG, Mace, Sisk and Vinci among its main contractor clients. It also works with clients Berkeley, Helical Bar, M&G and United House directly.

Director William Henry said: “The future outlook is positive. Our progress in recent years, despite challenging economic conditions, is a reflection of the strategic focus we have committed to.

“The recognition from the Government that the UK housing and construction industry needs investment has further stimulated the market and we firmly believe that there will be further positive business opportunities ahead.

At the end of last year, Henry Construction bagged the second phase of the £200m project to overhaul the former Preston Barracks site in Brighton.

It has also just secured a £115m deal to deliver a major new housing scheme in east London for Guinness Partnership.

This Imperial 2 scheme will involve design and construction of 500 homes and around 40,000 sq ft of community and workspace.
