Cheshire-based family plant hirer Ashbrook Plant has bought two Hewden depots in Warrington and Bangor.
It is the second deal this week following rival hirer GAP deal with Hewden’s administrators to the Lewes hire yard, near Brighton.
Ashbrook managing director James Ashbrook said: “While we were all sad to see the news regarding Hewden, we are pleased to report that we were able to react quickly and diligently to secure both depots and assets.
“In addition to the future and livelihood of the workforce in Warrington and Bangor”.
The new business will be called Ashbrook (Warrington) and Ashbrook (Bangor) respectively, based at the same locations previously operated by Hewden.
Ashbrook said: “We are open for business and working with customers to ensure a smooth transition. We have already invested over £3m in new access platforms, cherry pickers and dumpers to add to the existing plant fleet.
“All ensuring contractors across Cheshire and North Wales have the very latest machines to minimise down time and maximise productivity”.
Hewden Stuart collapsed into administration after 48 years trading in November.
