Chigwell gets green light for homes at show jumping centre

Chigwell Construction has secured planning to build 30 new homes on the site of a former equestrian centre in Essex.

Chigwell has formed a joint venture with Haynes Construction for the £15m scheme at the old Norton Heath Equestrian Centre in Ingatestone.

Planning permission was finally granted last week after nearly two years in the system.

Chigwell is now planning to start work on site the summer to deliver 15 affordable units and 15 luxury 4 and 5 bedroom detached homes.

Chigwell and Haynes have worked together on several sites over the past two years.

Chigwell Managing director Dean Floyd said: “This is the first of what we hope to be a long relationship, delivering high quality units and much needed affordable homes.”

It will be the firm’s third new build scheme currently on site with other projects underway in Essex and Leytonstone.

Chigwell’s core business is repair and maintenance work in the social housing sector.
