Birmingham starts hunt for £285m industrial park developer

Birmingham City Council has began the search for a developer to deliver one of the country’s biggest industrial developments in the north east of the city.

Birmingham Peddimore could contain up to 3m sq ft of new industrial floorspace as the council looks for investors.

The entire site has been already been masterplanned by the Council which is the main land owner.

This envisages 13 major industrial warehouse buildings to be built over two development phases.  The development value for phase one is £150m and phase 2 comes in at £135m.

The council aims to see the site built out over five years but will allow for faster development programmes.

Further information about prequalification is available from the council’s in-tend procurement portal.

Councillor John Clancy, Leader of Birmingham City Council, said: “Peddimore shows our ambition to deliver an exemplary industrial scheme that will become a catalyst for major growth and investment.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to bring thousands of skilled jobs to the area on the edge of our great city with enviable transport links.

“We’re confident that this scheme will attract even more world-class businesses to the region.”
