Six major contractors have a fight on their hands to retain places on a major highways and civil engineering framework across the Midlands.
Seventeen local authorities in the Midlands are putting the regional framework worth around £500m out to the market again.
Incumbents, Aggregate Industries, Balfour Beatty, Eurovia, Galliford Try and a Tarmac/Carillion joint venture now face the prospect of having to fight for a place on the new Midlands Highway Alliance Medium Schemes Framework 3.
This time around four places up for grabs with the previous two lot set-up covering £5m-£25m and smaller work packages up to £5m merged into a single workstream.
Leicestershire County Council is running the procurement race.
Interested firms should contact Charles Ellis at Leicestershire County Council.
