Specialist Raised Floor Solutions Ltd has launched a new trading division targeting the construction of multi-storey car parks.
Called ‘Metpark’, the new venture has been established following a significant upturn in the number of car park contracts being awarded to the firm.
Recent multi-storey car park deals include a new 1,700-space facility at London Luton airport, a 900-space car park at Northwich based retail park Barons Quay and a 333-space car park on Victoria Street in Liverpool.
Metpark offers an expert design, supply and installation service to clients, architects and structural engineers specifying composite steel floor decking on car park build projects.
Raised Floor Solutions Managing Director, Graham Hewitt said: “Composite steel floor decking has been the preferred method of car park construction in Europe for some time and is becoming widely adopted in the UK.
“There are many advantages to specifying composite steel floor decking over traditional concrete frame construction, the most obvious being the greatly improved speed of construction.
“However, steel decking is also durable, strong and allows large free spans, which is hugely beneficial to car park design as it offers a high degree of flexibility over alternative construction methods.”
Raised Floor Solutions is an approved supplier and installer of the full range of Kingspan Multideck products including long spanning steel floor deck MD206, which was formerly known as Hoesch Additive Flooring and was designed specifically for use in multi-storey car park construction.
Hewitt said: “We are working on the car park for a prestigious new apartment scheme in Ancoats, Manchester where a pre-coated MD60 has been specified.
“Not only does this provide an added layer of corrosion protection but where aesthetics are important it adds a high quality finish.”
