Broxtowe Borough Council has issued a call for firms to bid for a £30m leisure centre and housing scheme in Beeston town centre in Nottinghamshire.
Designs developed by Nottingham-based Leonard Design Architects envisage 130 new homes, a cinema and groundfloor food and drink venues.
The scheme forms phase two of the Beeston Square redevelopment. The development site sits alongside the recently extended tram network and aims to revitalise Beeston’s night-time economy by driving increased footfall to the town from the local and surrounding communities.
In September, the council granted full consent for the town’s new cinema and outline planning consent for the mixed-used and residential building.
The new cinema project is expected to cost over £6m to build.
It is aiming to appoint a contractor by May 2019.
Documents are available from the Due North procurement website.
