Burst pipe causes flash flood at Battersea Power Station site

The Enquirer has obtained dramatic footage of flooding at the Battersea Power Station site earlier this week after a water main burst.

Site workers captured images of water cascading across the site which was flooded in minutes on Monday afternoon.

Developer Battersea Power Station Development Company said it took 24 hours to pump the water out to allow work to resume on the job.

Mace is construction manager on the job and it is understood the part of site hit was a new heat rejection plant being built by blu-3.

A Battersea Power Station Development Company spokesperson said: “There was a burst water pipe in an isolated area of the Battersea Power Station construction site on Monday afternoon which was quickly contained.

“Through the efficient and collaborative effort by all those involved, the site was back up and running within 24 hours.

“We particularly want to thank our construction manager Mace and the wider supply chain for going above and beyond to fix the issue.”
