Coleman taken off Didcot demolition contract

Coleman & Company has confirmed its removal from the demolition and site removal contract at Didcot A Power Station.

Brown & Mason was brought onto the job in May to takeover recovery works following the boiler house collapse which killed four Coleman employees in February.

Client RWE has now decided to remove the rest of the site clearance work from Coleman.

A company statement said: “Coleman & Company can announce that we will not be continuing with the remaining demolition and site clearance work at Didcot A Power Station.

‘We agreed with site owners RWE, that this is in the best interests of all parties.

“We would like to thank RWE for their support over the last two years.

“All staff working at Didcot will be redeployed across the company onto other major projects.”
