Robertson boss in England quits after nearly 10 years

Andy McCleod, managing director of Robertson Construction England, has left the firm as the Scottish group plots further expansion in the region.

McCleod, who has been with Robertson for nearly 10 years, operated from the firm’s Gateshead office.

He is now rumoured to be heading for £140m turnover Tolent Construction, also based in Gateshead.

His departure comes as the main Robertson Construction board takes more direct control on the direction of the three English businesses and the projects undertaken.

More than £100m of revenue is presently generated in England where the diversified Robertson Group has been steadily building its presence with a new Yorkshire and East Midlands office in Sheffield.

The £450m Stirling-based Robertson Group has also formed a partnership homes business in the North of England.
