A man’s body has been discovered by construction workers on the former BBC studios site in Manchester city centre.
The body was found on Monday morning at the site on Oxford Road which is being transformed into student accommodation by Wates under a £60m deal.
Greater Manchester Police have been called to the scene and the area has been taped off.
Forensics officers have also been seen combing the area.
Police are working to establish the circumstances behind the man’s death.
It is thought he gained access to the building site over the weekend.
GMP told the Manchester Evening News: “Shortly before 7:50am on Monday, May 8, 2017, police were called to reports that a body had been found on Oxford Road in Manchester city centre.
“Enquiries are on-going to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.”
