Bid race begins for £3.3bn roads pavement framework

Highways England is now inviting bids for its next generation of improvement contracts.

The £3.3bn framework covers regional investment projects across the country for the next four years.

An OJEU notice states: “Highways England has a requirement to procure a Pavement Framework for the supply of Materials, Plant and Labour to carry out bituminous and concrete patching, surfacing and pavement construction operations including planing (milling), paving, ironwork and associated ancillary works, adjustment, renewal, in-situ and ex-situ recycling, foot-way surfacing and asphalt kerbing.

“The framework has been designed and shaped in line with the collaborative approach set out in the Highways England Supply Chain Strategy to enable better end to end focus on performance specifically around safety, customer and efficiency.”

The framework has been divided into six regional lots and firms have until October 23 to express their interest to PavementMaterialsFramework@highwaysengland.co.uk
