Galliford Try bags £52m Coventry student halls job

Galliford Try’s Building East Midlands business has secured a £52m contract to build a 922-bed student accommodation facility at Paradise Street in Coventry.

The new halls for specialist developer, The Elite Group, will be built across a three blocks of 10, 12 and 14 storeys and 21 three storey town houses on the site of a former garage close to the city centre, with an additional two low-rise house blocks.

Further landscaping will also be created including a recreational area for the students, as well as office and maintenance facilities for the proposed management company AXO Student Living.

The student complex has been designed by Fraser Brown MacKenna with building services design by Waterman.

Galliford Try East Midlands Managing Director Jon Marston said that the award comes with the firm already on an existing major student accommodation site in Coventry, building a £47.5m 770-bed facility at Godiva Place.
