Fusion21 launches £150m sprinkler supplier panel

Fusion21 is planning to roll-out a new-style panel of preferred firms for the supply and installation works for sprinkler systems.

The new national dynamic purchasing system is being billed as a next generation framework as it allows new suitable suppliers to join at any time rather than waiting for a term renewal.

This approach also gives the flexibility to respond to any changes in legislation or within the wider marketplace.

Selected firms are expected to share up to £150m of work over a five-year period.

This DPS is the first on the market to provide a complete fire safety solution suitable for the social housing sector and public sector buildings of any scale.

Nick Verburg, procurement and supply chain manager at Fusion21, said: “There has been an increased demand from our members to procure fire safety measures, as the country remains focused on ensuring all properties meet correct fire safety standards.

“With a go live date of March 2018, this DPS builds upon our already established fire safety offer and provides a whole package approach which will offer housing associations, local authorities, educational institutions and NHS/blue light providers increased choice, value for money and greater efficiency savings.

“We welcome applications from interested organisations that meet the criteria set out in the tender documentation.”

Three specialised fire safety solution lots

Lot 1: Management of the design, supply, installation and maintenance of fire suppression systems & fire safety works (worth £100m)

Lot 2: Design, supply, installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems (worth £30m)

Lot 3: Design, supply, installation and maintenance of water mist & associated systems (worth £20m)

The application process will focus on experience and capability. Interested suppliers are required to complete a PAS91 qualification question set, while those registered on Constructionline should only provide their registration number and answer the DPS specific questions.

SME’s are being encouraged to apply, and if not successful have the option to re-submit following receiving feedback against the set criteria.

The DPS is now available on the mytenders web portal – under Notice ID DEC149518.
