Kier starts year on top of contracts league

Kier has kick-off the year with a clutch of contracts wins that take it to the top of the contracts league for January.

According to construction information specialist Glenigan, the contractor bagged a trio of major awards.

These were a £160m bioscience project in Harlow for Public Health England, the £66m Burrell Renaissance building in Glasgow and a £60m inpatient facility at Ashworth Hospital on Merseyside.

In a month of turbulence caused by the collapse of Carillion, Kier/Eiffage will take on Carillion’s HS2 civils job on C2 North Portals, this package has been split two ways instead of three.

Sir Robert McAlpine remained at the top of the 12 month rolling league although its £600m lead helped by the Basttersea Power Station project award last year has be eaten away to around £300m by the new Kier wins.
