Amey Rail appoints former Carillion MD as new chief

Former Carillion Rail managing director Andy Joy has been appointed to head Amey’s Rail business.

Joy joined Amey last year as a business director when it acquired the majority of Carillion’s rail business.

In this role where he played a key part in ensuring the smooth transition of 600 staff and several major contracts into Amey and the safe delivery of critical milestones on Midland Mainline, Crossrail and the North-West Electrification programme.

Nicola Hindle, managing director of Consulting and Rail, said: “Having seen significant growth of our rail business within the last 12 months, I am confident that the breadth and depth of Andy’s senior executive experience will be invaluable to the growth and consolidation of our position in the sector.”
