The University of Birmingham has started the search for four partner contractors to deliver ambitious development plans over the next decade.
The university expects to invest £700m in a pipeline of projects.
It is now prequalifying contractors with the aim of inviting tenders from shortlisted firms in May for a new Main Contractor Construction Framework covering projects worth more than £10m.
The University is part way through a £1bn, 10-year planning and delivery programme. Phase one worth of £350m is due to complete in 2021 and has seen Willmott Dixon and Morgan Sindall secure major projects.
The University now plans to invest a further £600m transforming its campus between 2022 – 2026.
Phase 2 continues to focus on students, with a significant academic building being delivered every year for five years.
Firms have until the 25 April to complete prequals.. The successful quartet of contractors will be announced at the start of September.
