Berkeley St George chairman retires

Chairman of Berkeley Group’s successful St George house building arm Greg Fry is to retire.

Fry, 59, will step down at the end of the year after more than 30 years at the firm.

He was one of the founding directors of St George, which has been a cornerstone of growth for the group.

Fry developed the Tower at St George Wharf at Nine Elms, the first modern 50 storey high-rise residential building in London, whose success paved the way for many other schemes in the capital.

Tony Pidgley, Berkeley group chairman, said “I am very grateful to Greg for his loyal service to the company, his integrity and his leadership of St George for more than 30 years.

“I would therefore like to thank him for being a first class colleague and I wish him every happiness in the future.”
