Take-off for four airport frameworks worth £450m

Manchester Airport Group has opened the throttle on bidding for four regional airport frameworks worth up to £450m.

The airside and landside building frameworks will cover smaller work packages at Manchester, Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth Airports.

Previously the airport group had aimed for five-year frameworks but has now plumped for an eight-year term.

Firms will need to be capable of a substantial amount of self–delivery and also be capable of servicing airport needs from a £20,000 ‘quick fix’ light touch retail refurbishment carried out over a weekend, through to a multi-million pound business critical, highly-complex modernisation project.

Under the plans the regional airport frameworks will be split into four lots. These will cover small building jobs up to £100k, building works up to £500,000, and civils and M&E packages both worth up to £3m.

MAG Airports frameworks

  • Manchester Airport £100-£200 (14 firms)
  • East Midlands Airport £30-£60m (8 firms)
  • Stansted £80m-£180m (12 firms)
  • Bournemouth £2-£8m (4 firms)
