Building services specialist J S Wright has landed a £10.5m deal to help regenerate a former industrial district of East London.
The mechanical and electrical design and build specialist will work on the first two phases of a new 580-home canalside development at Fish Island Village in Hackney Wick.
Developer Hill, working in joint venture with housing association Peabody, has commissioned J S Wright to supply and install the mechanical services for 423 one, two and three-bedroom private and affordable apartments.
The apartments will be spread across 13 buildings with wharf-inspired designs – in keeping with the warehouses and industrial buildings that used to be on the site.
The 26-month contract is scheduled for completion in September 2019.
Marcus Aniol, Managing Director of J S Wright, said: “We are thrilled to be able to play such a key role in delivering new energy efficient homes to a vibrant canalside community that is restoring the vitality of its great local industrial heritage.”
