Civils specialist Nexus sees orders surge 45% to £290m

Publicly-listed civils specialist, Nexus Infrastructure, has enjoyed a sharp uplift in orders driven by both its civils and house building utility connection businesses.

In a trading update ahead of its annual results for the financial year ended 30 September 2018, the Essex-based firm said it was on target to hit profit expectations.

Specialised infrastructure, civil engineering and RC frame arm, Tamdown, saw its order book swell 31% to £142m, while utility connection specialist, TriConnex, saw orders jump 55% to £146m.

It fledgeling electric vehicle charging infrastructure firm, eSmart Networks, also achieved orders of £0.8m.

Together this lifted the Nexus group year-end order book 43% to £290m.

Mike Morris, Chief Executive Officer said: “We are pleased to report that profits for the full year will be in line with our expectations.

“The significant improvement in the order book and the fact that we are attracting an even broader base of housing developers and affordable housing providers to our existing strong client base, provides us with confidence for our future growth plans and outlook for the business.”
