Collinson appoints ex Willmott Dixon boss as chairman

Former Willmott Dixon chief executive John Frankiewicz has been appointed as non-executive chairman of the construction division of Collinson.

Preston-based Collinson specialises in tensile and modular construction, with projects ranging from bespoke sports facilities, warehousing and manufacturing facilities to maritime storage solutions and exhibition venues.

The company has now launched Collinson Construction to specialise in the commercial, industrial and education sectors.

Frankiewicz first joined the Collinson board in 2016.

He parted company with Willmott Dixon in 2014 after 28 years at the firm.

Sam Collinson, managing director at Collinson Construction, said: “John’s experience in the board room and passion for driving positive change in the industry have made a big impact at Collinson since he joined our board.

“We value John’s expertise and insight tremendously, and with his appointment as chairman I believe we are well positioned to take our strategies for growth to the next level.”

Frankiewicz said: “Collinson is a well-respected and dynamic company with huge potential in offsite construction and very talented people.

“I’m excited to step up into my new role as chairman and continue working with the team to further develop Collinson Construction as a forward-thinking and innovative business.”
