£300m South West Wales civils framework winners

Five contractors have won the major work element on the South West Wales civil engineering framework.

The new line-up of preferred firms sees Galliford Try drop out under the new arrangement with Andrew Scott and Dyer and Butler securing places on the lot covering projects over £5m for the first time.

Dawnus, Tarmac-owned Alun Griffths and Walters, also retain their places for another three years.

Large civil engineering projects (over £5M)

Total pipeline: £50m – Andrew Scott, Walters UK, Dawnus Construction, Alun Griffiths (Contractors), Dyer and Butler

Medium civil engineering projects (£1.5m-£5m)

Total value £43m – Knights Brown Construction, Walters UK, Dawnus Construction, Alun Griffiths (Contractors), Dyer and Butler

City and County of Swansea, Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, and Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire County Councils are all signed up to use the panel and will call-up the firms to supplement in house direct labour organisations.
