Contractor wanted for £17m Somerset roads upgrade

Somerset County Council has started the hunt for a contractor to carry-out £17m of junction improvement work on the Yeovil Western Corridor.

The 18-month contract will focus on five junction improvements along the western side of Yeovil, together with the upgrading of 350m of foot path to a cycleway and provision of 600m of new footway.

The works also  include the provision of a number of retaining walls together with a number of traffic signal control installations and the creation of a number of cycle and walking routes.

Contractors have until February 13 to register their interest via the council’s procurement portal here
