RFM Group wins student accommodation refurb deal

Leeds-based contractor RFM Group has been awarded a £500,000 refurbishment project at Arran House in Edinburgh by global student accommodation provider GSA.

The design and refurbishment project will see the creation of six new en-suite bedrooms with a communal kitchen, as well as brand new social space, for use by the full seven-storey apartment building in the popular student area near to The University of Edinburgh.

RFM Group have been appointed as main contractor and form part of the project team including; employer’s agent Broadfield Project Management, architects Fletcher Joseph, engineers Etive Consulting, building service engineers Calford Seadon and principle designer Thomson Gray.

The scope of works will include; alterations to the current floor plan, partitioning, plastering, ceilings, mechanical & electrical works, bathroom pod and kitchen installation, full decoration throughout as well as furniture installation.

The works will take place in a live environment, and RFM Group’s highly trained workforce will ensure safety is paramount and disruption is kept to a minimum throughout the project.

Contracts Manager Mark Flanagan said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for RFM Group and the finished outcome will greatly enhance the current accommodation facilities at Arran House.
