G&H land M&E deals from Interserve

Two divisions of the G&H Group have been appointed by Interserve to help transform Rotherham Interchange.

G&H Building Services will provide full mechanical and electrical works and G&H Sustainability a rooftop solar PV system in a £1.5m contract.

It is part of Interserve’s £12m scheme for South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.

The project will see Interserve refurbish Rotherham Interchange with new glazing, seating, flooring, and passenger information displays.

Upgrades will also be carried out to the car park including new cladding, surfacing and the creation of larger spaces for modern cars, electric vehicle charging points installed and pedestrian routes improved.

Electrically, G&H Building Services will provide lighting, lighting control, CCTV, power, main LV distribution, lightning protection, fire, intruder and voice alarms and a public address system.

Data, induction loop, electric vehicle charging points, car park equipment, ticket machines and barriers, and a people counting system will also be included.

Mechanically, domestic water services, fume extract ventilation, supply ventilation to concourses, BMS controls for mechanical plant and heating will be designed and fitted.

G&H Sustainability will install a non-penetrative solar system on top of the car park featuring 637 panels that will generate over 140,600kWh ever year.

G&H Managing Director, Graham Kelly, said: “This is a very important scheme playing a key role in Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council’s town centre masterplan to regenerate the area with sustainable transport.

“Our services will be tailored specifically to the people using Rotherham Interchange to provide a better customer experience through state-of-the-art mechanical and electrical features.

“In addition to the building services, our sustainability division will provide a bespoke solar PV system on the car park roof to provide free energy every year.

“We have a great working relationship with the Interserve team and we look forward to working with them to assist their delivery of this project.”
