Pedestrian killed by falling window from 27th floor

A passer-by was killed on Tuesday morning by a window which fell from the 27th floor of a luxury London residential tower.

The frame and window pane fell from the penthouse apartment of the Corniche building in Vauxhall.

Apartments cost up to £6.25m in the tower on the Albert Embankment which was completed by Berkeley Group subsidiary St James last year.

St James said it has launched an urgent investigation into the incident.

Witnesses told the Mail Online that the victim was a coach driver who has just used the toilet in a nearby hotel when he was hit.

Police said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
