VolkerFitzpatrick wins £14m Thames Valley spec office job

The property investment arm of JP Morgan has awarded VolkerFitzpatrick a £14m contract to build a 70,000 sq ft office project in Maidenhead.

Construction is due to begin at Foundation Park this month, with the project presently ranking as the biggest speculative office scheme in the Thames Valley.

Two of Foundation Park’s eight existing units have been demolished to make way for a single, three-storey Cat A office, due to be completed in February 2020.

The structural works will include concrete pad foundations and steel frame construction.

Within the full height atrium, the team will install an internal staircase, which will be supported by structural wires at roof level to give the impression that it is floating.

Stuart Deverill, managing director of VolkerFitzpatrick’s Building division, said: “This exciting appointment in the Thames Valley for JP Morgan builds upon our proven track record of delivering high quality, energy efficient office space within easy reach of the M4, the M25 and major rail and air connectivity.”
