Bath Uni seeks builder for £27m engine R&D facility

The University of Bath is on the hunt for a builder to deliver its planned Institute for Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems.

The Institute will harness the engineering expertise of the University of Bath for the benefit of the UK’s automotive industry.

To be located at the Bristol and Bath Science Park, the new facility is planned to lead the development of future generations of ultra-low emission vehicles in partnership with McLaren, Ford and Jaguar Land Rover.

Stride Treglown is lead consultant, designing the overall building envelope, office spaces and site-wide development.

Planned 140,000 sq ft research and development facility for next generation of car engines

Bath-based DKA will apply specialist automotive expertise to develop and coordinate the design of the complex testing facilities.

IAAPS is scheduled to open in 2020.
