The University of Aberdeen has got the planning thumbs up to build a £35m laboratories hub building for students studying chemistry and biomedical sciences.
The University hopes to start building the Science Teaching Hub on its Old Aberdeen campus works in mid-2019, completing in the first quarter of 2021.
The new building has been designed by Reiach and Hall Architects for a site located just off St Machar Drive, near the landmarkSir Duncan Rice Library.
It will feature cutting-edge facilities and flexible teaching laboratory space that will encourage collaboration between students from different disciplines.
Professor Sir Ian Diamond, principal and vice-chancellor of the university, said: “We are extremely excited about this new science teaching hub and the benefits it will bring to our students.”
