Eleven contractors on one of the country’s most prized construction framework deals face a fight to retain their places as the delayed mega framework comes up for renewal.
Hampshire County Council has formally just started prequalifying firms for its fourth generation Southern Construction Framework, with the promise of a £5.25bn work pipeline.
The SCF framework currently delivers projects for around 50 public sector clients across the South West, South East, and London boasting a recent annual spend of £800m.
BAM, Galliford Try, Kier, Morgan Sindall, Wates and Willmott Dixon were previously the most successful and will be defending places on all three regional lots
The new SCF framework will come into operation on 22 April 2019 and run for four years
Contractors are being enticed with the prospect of early contractor involvement, collaborative working and two-stage open book contracts on projects from £2m to potentially more than £200m.
The framework will be available for all types of construction work, construct only or design and construct. The framework will include pre and post contract construction services for the management and development of projects.
