Developer British Land has revealed it is looking at starting two major new projects in the capital over the next 12 months costing around £364m to deliver.
The near-term pipeline of 440,000 sq ft of consented space includes a mixed-use scheme at Blossom Street in Shoreditch and the Gateway Building at its Paddington Central campus where it has planning for a high-rise hotel.
Tenders are currently being invited for the £35,000 sq ft Blossom Street scheme which will cover more than two-acres of land at a site near to Spitalfields Market.
Kier and Bam are among the firms understood to be chasing the scheme, which has planning for around 260000 sq ft of office space, alongside retail and residential, to create a mixed-use development that builds on the historic fabric of the area.
Its plans envisage a mix of floorplates, to appeal to small and growing businesses, particularly in the technology and creative sectors.
British Land also revealed it is looking at options to press ahead with plans for a 105,000 sq ft premium hotel, expected to cost around £120m to deliver.
