HS2 bidding consortium Align has appointed former ICE president Geoff French as its chairman.
Industry veteran French will help to promote the consortium’s combined capabilities in client and supply chain collaborative working, skills and apprenticeship programming, and community and stakeholder relationship building.
He brings a wealth of experience having held several chairmanships within the industry, most notably at Scott Wilson and the Enterprise M3 LEP.
The Align three-way joint venture consists of Bouygues Travaux Publics, Sir Robert McAlpine and VolkerFitzpatrick.
It has been been shortlisted for four of the seven major design and build civils projects on the £12bn project.
French said “I am delighted to be given the opportunity, through Align, to work with some of the leading and most future-minded contractors in the market, and mostly to be part of a consortium whose highest priority is to leave a lasting legacy for Britain’s future.
