£200m New Chinatown developer in sell-off talks

The developer behind the £200m New Chinatown scheme is Liverpool is in talks over a possible sale of the scheme.

North Point Global has confirmed talks with Your Housing Group but stressed no binding agreement has been reached at the moment.

Construction work on the site has virtually stopped at the groundworks stage as North Point Global looks to replace the Bilt Group as main contractor on the job.

A J Marriott, Director North Point Global Group, said: “There have been ongoing sale negotiations with Your Housing Group in relation to the New Chinatown development in Liverpool which are continuing at the present time, however no binding Agreement has been entered into with them.

“Chinatown Developments have received significant interest from various parties around the world over the availability of the New Chinatown site on a purchase or joint venture basis and will consider these in due course.

“Furthermore Chinatown Developments are looking at a detailed planning application for Phases 2 and 3 of the site to take advantage of the enormous popularity of Phase 1 which is already underway. A full Press release will be issued at the end of March 2017.”
