Bristol Water seeks firms for £100m water pipeline upkeep

Bristol Water is planning to hold a bidders day ahead of inviting tenders for £100m of water pipeline work.

The water company aims to spend around £10m a year over the next 10 years on a mix of renovation, replacement and water metering.

Bristol Water was one of eight water providers to miss its annual leakage target and now plans to improve the supply network.

The water company said it was still finalising its procurement plans and was keen on feedback from the suppliers day to be held on 23 August in Bristol.

It present draft plan is to invite bids for four lots for AMP 7 from 2020-2025.

The first lot will cover around 20km of water mains pipe renovation each year. Two further lots will cover bust water main repairs and new supplies development services.

The final lost will see the successful bidder install nearly 24,000 water meters.

A formal invitation to tender will go out in October. Plans seeking to attend the suppliers day this month should email Bristol Water.
