Building envelope specialist Prater has been appointed by Sir Robert McAlpine to deliver a façade package to the new Hilton Hotel in Woking.
Prater is due on site in October with work due for completion at the end of 2019.
The hotel site will include 189 rooms, high-end conference facilities and a sky bar – offering panoramic views of the town.
Prater’s remit includes the installation of unitised glazed curtain walling along with the full wall build-up to both the solid and perforated gold anodised rainscreen cladding to the building facade.
Prater will also be delivering a number of ground floor entrance works including glazed screens, canopies and doors to the prestigious hotel.
Shane Blackett, Pre-Contracts Manager at Prater said: “We have been working closely with Sir Robert McAlpine and the professional project team to achieve the design intentions of the project whilst complying with the performance specification, with particular attention to the accommodating the onerous movement and tolerances for the building.
“Having already worked on a number of high-profile projects with Sir Robert McAlpine, we are looking forward to continuing our long-standing relationship and delivering a first-class hotel experience to Woking Town Centre.”
Work on the Hilton Hotel is due to be handed over at the end of 2019, with the wider development of Victoria Square due for completion in 2020.
