A 70-year-old man has died following an incident involving a digger at a site in Crewe on Thursday morning.
A joint police and HSE investigation is now underway.
A Cheshire police spokeswoman told the Stoke Sentinel: “At 8.42am this morning (Thursday 19 July), police were called to a construction site on Stoneley Avenue in Crewe following reports of an incident involving a digger.
“A 70-year-old man was taken to Leighton Hospital by ambulance where he sadly passed away. Next of kin have been informed although formal identification has not yet taken place.
“Officers along with the Health and Safety Executive are currently at the scene establishing the full circumstances of the incident.”
